Gotham City Welcomes you was the first thing you saw when walking into the fully decked out Harrigan. I saw the coolest action ever. Okay…Batman was standing in front of the large screen at the end of the hallway when this thick fall about an inch high came rolling from behind him. It was awesome! There were so many creative costumes. Ken and Barbie, the Alltel guy, the Spice Girls, The Copeland twins, Mario and Luigi, a UM cafeteria worker, the cast of Clue, some High School Musical girls, Two jokers, Batman and Batgirl, some Hillbillies, Ms. Edward Scissor Hands, Rock Em Sock Em Robots, Oscar the Grouch, Richard Simmons and his exercisers, Raggedy Anne and Andy, and many more◊!! I just loved it! I’m glad everyone liked the decorations too because we put in a lot of time of planning, getting the decorations, and putting them up. The Harrigan looked amazing afterwards.
Urban Plunge was amazing! Instead of going to Nashville, we went to Huntsville. Melissa Reeves and Lee Harper were my leaders. They were great! We went to H-ville to help the Downtown Rescue Mission. We arrived around 2, ate lunch, and got a tour around the building where we volunteered. We began painting around 3:30 and painted until 7:30 with dinner in between. The building we were painting was an old school and now it is where the Rescue Mission will be moving into in a couple of weeks. After painting, I went with Natalie to our host family while the remaining five girls went to one house and the three guys went to another. My family was amazing! I loved them! They went all out for Natalie and I. They let us stay in their fully furnished basement and stocked their refrigerator with drinks and got us plenty of snacks. I mean they went all out! I was grateful, but didn’t take full advantage of it. That family is really blessed, and I was blessed to have met them. Saturday, we painted from 8 in the morning until after 3 that afternoon. Then we visited the original Rescue Mission building. Then we ate dinner. That evening we went to Bridgestreet Mall. Gorgeous! I love it there! I fell in love with this store called Anthropologie. Not because of the name, but because of the items within the store. I smelled one perfume that was the sweetest smell I’d ever smelled. I know now why I did not get paid on Friday…God knew I would have gone shopping and spent a lot of money!! LQTM!! Anyway, we left and went back to our families. The next day we went to church and then it was back to Mobile. We stopped and ate at Five Guys and they really do live up to their creditials as the best burger and fry shop!! That restaurant is great…expensive…but great!! We finally arrived in Mobile around 5:30◊.
So, yea…Monster’s Ball-Urban Plunge…the next few weeks will be fairly easy for me and I’m excited! I hope you had a great week so far and have a wonderful weekend!
◊I accidentally deleted everything off of my camera trying to delete only some of them. That’s why there are no pictures and videos up!!
