The Plunger, Hakuna Matata, and an All-Access Pass to the Homework Cave

amy

Happy Friday.

There are three primary reasons why I am excited about today:
1) It’s Preview Day, so the caf will be exceptionally good in an effort to bribe prospective students to come here.
2) Covers is tonight.
3) I am currently listening to Timon and Pumbaa sing Hakuna Matata, and I am singing with them.

Life is good.

I was officially dubbed a “Plunger” last weekend due to Urban Plunge (and when I say, ‘officially dubbed’, I mean, ‘my facebook status said so’). My group went to A Place Called Home Ministries in Montgomery, which is a Christian foster home to 12 children (and 7 dogs). We added an expansion onto their living room and we each contributed another to the number of children residing in the household. I learned how to tile a floor and enjoyed its completion 17 hours after we began. Oh, and all 8 in my team are now officially part of “the family” of A Place Called Home. It’s great to be a plunger.

Next week, I have resolved to be enthusiastic about a presentation, a 9-12 page paper, two tests, 20 hours at work, a dorm move and an abundance of Greek literature to tackle. Needless to say, I have reserved my all-access pass to the homework cave, so if you need me, that’s where I’ll be. I love college.
